Miss Courtney Lynn Weixel is a writer, teaching artist, performer and creative entrepreneur currently residing in the San Francisco Bay Area. Courtney has enjoyed performing on stage since November of 2000, and began acting on camera in 2013. Favorite roles have included Sandy (Grease), Smitty (How to Succeed…), Victoria Fox (All That Jazz), Simone (Chris), Tera (Jellybean), and Lori (Lori’s Bell).
Courtney is also a successful and talented teaching artist. She directed, choreographed and produced youth musical theatre programs for her company, Walnut Creek Theatre Company, from 2009 - 2013. In 2013, she joined the faculty of East County Performing Arts Center as the Musical Theater and Vocal Teacher. She has also taught for Kenn Adams’ Adventure Theater’s After School Drama Club, and assistant directed for Music Box Theatre Company’s summer 2012 programs. Courtney is the author of three children’s musicals, (Love Story: The Musical, Pop! The Musical, and Mysteria Lane) all of which have been produced in the Bay Area. She is the Founder of Thunder Bay Productions, and is currently working on developing and workshopping the exciting new musical, Thunder Bay, based on her father’s 90’s rock album of the same title.
In her spare time, Courtney also writes poetry and short stories. She is in the process of developing an educational film series and a youth theatre outreach program. Courtney is a proud Certified Expert Instructor of The Powell Method. She loves living a creative life and looks forward every day for the new inspirations that might come her way.
